I studied abroad from the Fall 2018-Spring 2019 school year at Okayama University and took part in the EPOK (Exchange program Okayama) program. While there I took various Japanese language and culture classes, took part in several class field trips, and completed the two CSUMB study abroad projects (Study Abroad Blog and LESCANT Gallery linked here).

This study abroad experience satisfies our MLO 5: Cultural Internationalization and Language Immersion. During my study abroad experience at Okayama University I was immersed in the culture and language. I took two primary language classes, one per semester, Japanese 1 and then I jumped to Japanese 3. I took four EPOK classes for the final EPOK project that is linked below. I also took several cultural classes with varying topics from food and education to the cultural practice of chado, tea ceremony.
