WLC 300 orients students to the SWLC majors in Japanese Language and Culture (JLC), and Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures (SLHC). Students acquire the knowledge to fulfill the requirements and the Major Learning Outcomes (MLOs) for SWLC’s new Bachelor of Arts degrees in JLC and SLHC. Students develop individual learning plans. Required for all majors seeking a B.A. degree in JLC or SLHC. Prerequisite: Junior standing and satisfactory completion of Japanese 300 or equivalent; Spanish 202 or 212, or equivalent; or advisor’s consent.

In WLC 300 we learned about and prepared for our major and its learning outcomes. For our major we have five learning outcomes; MLO 1: Japanese Language and Communication, MLO 2: Japanese Culture, MLO 3: Secondary Culture Other Than Japanese, MLO 4: Research and Technology, MLO 5: Cultural Internalization and Language Immersion. To prepare for our major we created this Eportfolio and started its set up, including writing a resume and personal statement for the home page.
